Theme Development Workshops

WHAT IS A THEME DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP?

Theme Development Workshops (TDWs) are thematic panels and workshops for research and industry on AI trends to help the community set the strategic research agenda and innovation roadmap. The aim is to jointly identify strategic AI research areas and challenges during the workshop and create structures for collaboration to continue working on them after the event. The first workshops of this kind took place in 2020, where CLAIRE organised two Theme Development Workshops related to earth observation and climate change together with ESA.

One-day workshop with a limited number of pre-selected experts from research and industry

Plenary presentations & focused discussions with key experts in smaller groups and breakout sessions

Key objective: elaborate common goals between academia and industry to define a strategic AI research and innovation roadmap for particular sectors or topics

If you want to know how to organise a Theme Development Workshop, please have a look at the VISION D4.1 “Template for Theme Development Workshops”.
